Why Joe Hart is undeniably phenomenal – arguably the PL’s best keeper

I believe it is extremely difficult and burdensome to speak about a player who you rate so highly and love when he plays for your team. Echoes of bias forever crescendo in the wings and somebody will always disagree disregarding your opinion as invalid as you are supposedly not speaking in a neutral manner.

I always attempt to be objective, and I am often more critical of my team than project advantageous tendencies.

For me, Hart is the Premier League’s best keeper alongside De Gea, as painful as it is to admit that there is no denying De Gea’s genius and match winning abilities. In pragmatic terms the Premier League has brilliant keepers in plethora, however, Hart & De Gea entertain lacklustre defenders in front of them yet continuously play incredibly well. Hart has won the Golden Glove four times in the last six years whilst the rest of the defence was being heavily criticised week in week out.

I often observe keepers as synonymous to defensive midfielders; if done correctly they persistently perform spectacularly maintaining the side’s backbone without being truly recognised. Many become infatuated with goalkeepers only when they make incredible, miraculous saves deterring from the mundane rather than appreciating consistency.

If it was not for Hart, City would have conceded five or more goals last season at the Camp Nou vs Barcelona. When, for me, the greatest player ever to grace the turf in Lionel Messi passionately praises you, you know you have exerted a scintillating performance.

Today, he did not just save Ibra’s penalty but his all around routine play impressed me from the outset. He makes himself big in audacious situations, his reactions are insanely energetic and precise tactics such as delaying the penalty by loitering behind the goal was an astute technique to psyche Zlatan out.

If you present Charles Joseph Hart with a defence that matches his capabilities and that he can communicate fluently with, you’re laughing, implement chemistry. The attacking prowess is hardly uninspired.

Sergeant Pep, you are light years ahead of me and then some in footballing intelligence , but Hart is the driving force behind this side. Don’t sell Joe Hart, he’s super.

  1. Is there an argument to suggest that as Kasper Schmeichel has been fundamental to Leicester’s title bid he could be placed ahead of Hart and De Gea? Ironic that City let him go when they did?!
